MONMOUTH Post Office will move from Priory Street to Morgam News in Monnow Street, the Post Office have confirmed.
Customers at the new office - which will open during the summer - will find improved opening hours with the office open for business from 8.30 am until 5.30 pm Monday to Friday and from 8.30 am until 4 pm on Saturday.
Miss Linda Roberts, Retail Network Manager for the Post Office, said: "The new office will be in a central position at the heart of the community. It's a bigger and brighter property which is modern and spacious."
Post Office officials have met with local councillors to discuss plans for the new Post Office. As a result of the meeting an application will be submitted to the County Council for disabled car parking facilities to be placed close to Morgam News.
Miss Roberts said: "Staff at the current office will continue to work at the new location and the current sub-postmistress, Mrs Jennifer Hyde, will oversee the transition which we hope will take place during the summer."
