SIR,
For many months residents on Wonastow Road and Kings Fee have taken a great interest in the new development about to take place on the Trevor Bowen Court site.
One of their great concerns has been the fate of the mature trees planted at the time of the building of the court in 1963-64.
It is evident that the large willow at the entrance to the site is dead or dying.
As it has stood for nearly 50 years it seems rather odd that it has died now.
I have asked Monmouth Housing and Monmouthshire County Council to put resident's minds at rest that no illegal activities have taken place to kill this tree. Perhaps, when they have completed their investigations, they could publish their findings in the Beacon.
