PLEASE check up on any of your neighbours who may be elderly or vulnerable. Naturally, the recent weather we have experienced can cause the less able amongst us not to venture out. But this in itself can lead to individuals experiencing their own shortages of essential supplies. There are persons in the area who may not have close friends or family to assist. Consider helping clear paths and steps of ice and snow. If there is anybody you have serious concerns about, please contact the emergency services immediately.

We have also received several reports of youngsters playing on the frozen surface of the wildlife pond at Rockfield Road. I must stress the dangers that these people are putting themselves in. We have heard of tragedies around the country these past few days as a consequence of people venturing out onto frozen ponds. Parents must please insure they advise their children of the dangers in playing in such places at this time.
