The children of year five at Osbaston Church in Wales School had a brilliant day out the classroom last Monday (13th September).
As part of a new project, the children spent the day at the top of The Kymin, exploring the roundhouse and learning about poetry.
During the morning session the children were taught all about the history of The Kymin and its roundhouse, as well as the geology of the land.
Then after dinner they were spoken to by professional poets Sian Northey and Chris Kinsey about all things poetry.
They were even encouraged to write a poem themselves about their experience at The Kymin.
Run by the National Trust, the project is all about communicating with young children.
Martin Kerrigan, custodian for the National Trust said: "We are hoping to do more and more events like these.
"It's a wonderful way to engage with youngsters."
