CHEPSTOW bus station is set to have its long-awaited toilets following a decision made by Chepstow Town Council.

Last Wednesday (27th November) councillors met to discuss three possible locations for the toilets. Councillors agreed that number 11 Thomas Street, will be the chosen location.

The site is currently used as a residential one bedroom flat and will cost £5,500 per annum to run.

Councillor Yvonne Havard of St Kingsmark ward, said: "I am very impressed with the information and completely endorse what was given to councillors. The plans are very easy to understand, and I feel number 11 Thomas Street might be the answer to what we've needed for a long time. I think it's a jolly good idea."

Councillor Hilary Beech of St Christopher's ward, said: "I would like to add my support, Thomas Street sounds ideal, and I would also like to commend the owner of the flat."

The toilets will go ahead following MCC approval and a possible change of use. The council also needs to make provisions for disabled access to the toilets.
