AN ALREADY-approved development of three homes in Chepstow is to go before planners.
Planning permission for the three houses, on the former Army Cadets ATC squadron hut on Lower Church Street, was approved in 2013 but construction on the houses has not yet begun.
One of the conditions of the approved application was that work would begin within five years of the approved date, 12th February 2013.
The current application hopes to extend the lifetime of the planning permission for a further five years.
The houses would be in the form of a ‘stepped’ terrace pattern, in line with the neighbouring properties. According to architects Hall and Bednarcyzk, historic maps show the application site was previously occupied by a row of houses, before the construction of the hut.
In order to limit the risk of flooding, the houses will be elevated from street level by 250mm and will be set back from the pavement. Each house will include a dedicated parking space and small garden.
