Parking bays on Monmouth streets are to be temporarily suspended while road works take place later this month.
The suspensions will affect on street parking in Whitecross Street and Monk Street in Monmouth and will be in force from October 27 to October 31 while essential duct laying works are carried out.
During this period, parking bays will be temporarily suspended. On Whitecross Street, the suspension will cover approximately 45 metres from its junction with St Mary’s Street to Monk Street. On Monk Street, around 20 metres of parking bays from the junction with Whitecross Street will also be affected.
Reasonable access will be maintained for residents and businesses along the affected roads. The council advises motorists to plan accordingly, allow extra time for journeys and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Temporary Road Closure on Wonastow Road for Telecom Works
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys around Monmouth between October 27-31 while a section of Wonastow Road is closed for essential telecommunications installation works.
The affected section spans approximately 100 metres from the junction with Kings Fee. During this period, a signed diversion route will be in place via Link Road, B4293 Portal Road, Cinderhill Street, St Thomas’s Square, Drybridge Street, and back to Wonastow Road.
The council assures that reasonable access will be maintained for properties along the closed section. The works are necessary to ensure safe installation and minimise disruption.
Motorists are advised to follow diversion signs and allow extra travel time for travel
Temporary Road Closure in Penrhos for BT Works
Monmouthshire County Council is to temporarily close a section of Pit-Wern-Yr-Heolydd, Penrhos, on October 16 to allow BT to carry out poling works. The closure will affect approximately 340 metres from the junction with C27.6 Dairy Farm Road between 9:30am and 3:30pm.
A signed diversion route will be in place via Dairy Farm Road, Raglan Road, Bryngwyn Road, John Smiths Lane, Handy Lane, and Pwll-Y-Groes.
lyn Road Closure for Tree Works
A section of Glyn Road, Penallt is to temporarily close from October 28 to October 31 for tree felling to take place. The affected section runs 285 metres east from Brook Road.
Works will take place between 9am and 4pm and a signed diversion will be in place via Pentwyn Lane and Lone Lane with access maintained for local properties
