THE former Mabey Bridge site, complete with permission to build 450 houses, is up for sale.
The site, in the centre of Chepstow, has been listed with estate agent Savills on behalf of Mabey Bridge.
Savills director of development services, Gareth Carter, said there has already been some interest in the Station Road site, which could be sold in parts or as a whole.
“We are currently talking to some national developers and we have had some interest in parts of the site and as a whole.
“Whoever buys it as a whole might want to sell parts afterwards as well.”
The price for the site is available on application but Mr Carter said they would “let the market set the price”.
The closing date for offers is 12pm on Saturday 14th September, as the agent attempts to give time for potential buyers to understand the development plans associated with the site and for the remaining buildings on the site to be cleared.
The sale of the 41 acre site comes after plans for 450 houses was approved by Monmouthshire County Council in April this year.

The application was originally for 600 houses but was reduced as more houses would have required significant upgrades to the A48/ Station Road junction near Tesco.
