Motorists across Monmouthshire are being urged to plan ahead as a series of temporary traffic measures are set to come into force on Wednesday, April 30.

In Tintern, a section of Trellech Road will close between 8am and 5pm for essential poling works, affecting around 370 metres from Bargain Wood Road. Diversions will be in place via Bargain Wood Road, Craig‑Las Road, Llandogo Road and the A466, though access to properties will be maintained.

Further north at Pen Yr Heol, Waste Road will also close for the day while similar works are carried out. The closure runs for approximately 255 metres from Mill Road, with traffic diverted via Bryngwyn Road, Raglan Road and the R42.

Meanwhile, on Mitchel Troy Road, drivers won’t face a closure but will encounter a temporary 40mph speed limit over an 850‑metre stretch, controlled by traffic lights, as the road is reduced to a single lane.
