Drivers in Llandenny and Earlswood face a series of short‑term road closures next month as Monmouthshire County Council carries out essential inspection and poling works.
The first disruption lands on February 5, when Llandenny Walks Road will shut for one day between 8am and 5pm to allow poling works to be completed. The closure covers around 150 metres from its junction with Llandenny Road, with diversions in place via Monmouth Road, Ty Freeman Road and surrounding routes.
Just four days later, from February 9-10 and again between February 18-19, Llandenny Road’s SWTRA Overbridge will be closed overnight between 9pm and 5am for structural inspection works. The affected stretch runs roughly 0.85km west of the R71 junction, with traffic rerouted via Lower Raglan Road and Cefn Tilla Road.
Meanwhile in Earlswood, R122 Shirenewton to Wentwood Mill Road will close on 10 February between 9am and 5pm for further poling work. The closure spans 155 metres near Gaerllwyd Baptist Chapel, with diversions through Buckwell Road and Earlswood Common Road.
