Monmouth Town Council’s Community Grants Scheme recently supported the Monmouth Allotment Association in their project to have the track to the allotments and Two River Meadow resurfaced.

The improvement to the surface will mean that the allotments and Two River Meadow is accessible for all without a negative impact on the local environment. This project has taken considerable time and dedication from the chair of the Allotment Association, Mr Ian Townsend as well as other members of the group such as Mr Peter Short and Mr Warren Courtenay-Ricketts. It’s their commitment to the cause that has seen the improvement to the area.

This project is just one example of what the funds from the the town counci’sl Community Grants Scheme can support. With projects of all sizes, and covering a wide range of activities and community groups, it offers local support to town groups for the benefit of Monmouth.

The first round of grants for 2022-23 is now open with applications being accepted by the town council from February 16 to March 4. Application forms can be found on the town council website www.monmouth.gov.uk or can be obtained from the town clerks on [email protected]. The council are looking forward to supporting more projects within the community.
