The New House Hotel was packed to the rafters on Saturday night (19th October) as a fundraising activity for breast cancer came to a head.
Five heads in total came under the electirc razor of Phillip Mungeam and a massive total of £7,500 was raised, smashing the Pink Ladies' original target of £4,000.
Kay Peacock, Rachel Drago, Victoria Boxhall-James, Julie Lewis and honorary 'lady' Joe Peacock all died their hair pink before bravely having it shaved off for the cause.
Support for the fundraisers came not just from Usk but from its twin town of Graben-Neudorf in Germany, Australia and the USA.
MC for the evening was Rhiannon Jones and music was provided by Simon, Sam, Maya and Ellie, otherwise known as Stormus.
"I am ecstatic to have helped raise so much money to help fight such an evil disease," said lolly pop lady and former Usk mayor Kay.
"It is, however, an incredible emotional rollercoaster ride to have all your hair shaved off.
"I chose to do it, but my heart goes out to all those ladies who don't have that choice."
The Pink Ladies (and Joe) were determined to raise money for women and men with a diagnosis of breast cancer and for those in Gwent and Powys who need the support of the St David's Foundation.
They have been inundated with messages from people who told them that they were an inspiration to many, and that their selfless deed had given them much-needed support and comfort.
Sonia Pang told them: "I am amazed by what you are all doing today. It is very emotional for me, it seems like yesterday that I shaved my head before my treatment took all my hair.
"It was the hardest thing because it was suddenly visible to everyone. I have never felt so vulnerable yet never had I felt so much love, support and solidarity from all the fabulous women that knew me and even some that didn't.
"You are all incredible."
The youngest member of the Pink Ladies is 22-year-old Victoria Boxhall-James, who was claimed by the other ladies to be the bravest.
She stressed that cancer can affect any age group and that all women regardless of age should check their breasts and attend any cancer screenings they are invited to.
