Monmouth Photographic Club has had a busy couple of months. Theyhave had presentations from a number of live and Zoom speakers covering topics such as psychology, mood and atmosphere in photography, and also the experiences of someone working as a professional photographer in Namibia.
They have completed their first club competition, with Lin Wyles gaining 1st place with her entry 'A Dogs Day Out'. She also came in 2nd place, with Elisa Best coming 3rd. Overall 45 images were put forward with the judge stating that the very high standard made his job difficult.
In late November they have a zoom meeting entitled 'Lake District by Day and Night' with professional photographer Mark Hetherington.
They are a small and friendly club, with the aim of helping people improve their photographic skills, and the quality of the images they take. You don't need to have high end camera equipment; they have members who predominantly use their smartphone cameras, and there are lots to learn about the techniques of using them to take great images.
