AN artist who grew up in Penallt has recently been involved in the launch of a book inspired by Dylan Thomas's life.
A Dylan Odyssey has been created in collaboration with a collection of authors, including Griff Rhys Jones, Hannah Ellis and Gillian Clarke.
The book is inspired by the culture, landscapes and people in the poet's life and is full of literary essays and illustrations that bring his words to life.
29-year-old Sarah Edwards, who grew up on a farm in Penallt, said:? "My childhood of exploring, climbing trees and helping with the animals has been a huge inspiration for my illustration.
"I really enjoyed working with Graffeg and Literature Wales when creating the illustrated maps for A Dylan Odyssey. I studied Dylan Thomas at A-level so it was a delight to revisit his work, life and stomping grounds around Wales and beyond."
Sarah attended Trellech Primary School followed by Monmouth Comprehensive School, and in 2004 went to Cardiff University to study English Literature and Cultural Criticism.
Following several years of working in arts education and events in Cardiff, she took the plunge and now works full time as an illustrator and designer.
"I'm self taught, and use a combination of chunky crayons, pastels, ink and digital techniques to create my work.
"Although I now live in Worthing, West Sussex, I enjoy coming home regularly to visit my family and our wonderful sheep dog, George."
Last year Sarah created the murals at the Humble by Nature farm shop and cafe.
