THE 2018 Penallt Classic Car and Bike Show was blessed with good weather, after organisers feared the worst.
Weather forecasts up to the morning of Sunday’s event (19th August) showed rain would be likely, but this didn’t put off more than 1,000 people who attended the show, which is held every two years at Penallt’s Pelham Hall.
Awards were given to cars and bikes, with a public vote and a judge’s vote.
The public’s favourite was a 1955 Riley RME, while the judge chose a 1974 two-litre Ford Capri. Motorbike winner by public vote was a 1955 BSA, while the judge chose a Moto Guzzi.
Final figures are still being counted, but it is thought the total amount raised for the village hall was around £2,000.
