Dragalo (the giant dragon shaped pedalo) is heading out for another fundraising adventure, between Aug 12-15 2022.

Team Dragola are going to be pedalo-ing 115 km along the river Severn and Sharpness canal to raise money for the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), who are in the process of establishing a new Cotswold search and rescue team to be based in Cirencester. They are aiming to raise £5,000 in support of SARA and the new Cotswolds search and rescue team. Donations can be made at: www.justgiving.com/campaign/dragalo.

The plan for Dragalo is to set off from the the most northerly SARA station at Stourport on Severn on the morning of Friday Aug 12, and will be heading down to Worcester, where they will swap teams before heading on to the SARA station at Upton on Severn for a well earned BBQ and raffle.

On Saturday Dragola will be heading downstream to Tewkesbury before swapping teams, and finishing the day at the historic Gloucester Docks. Sunday involves passing through 10 swing bridges along the Sharpness canal, and finishing at the Sharpness SARA station.

The finale on Monday will involve craning the pedalo back onto the river Severn at high tide, making a dash to the northern shore and pedalo-ing along the shoreline, completing the adventure at the Beachley SARA Station under the Severn Bridge.

They need volunteers to help Dragalo and raise money for SARA, please contact either Matt, Sam or Tim at [email protected], it’s a bit different and a lot of fun.
