A PEDAL cyclist from Ross-on-Wye has been fatally injured after being involved in a collision with a white Ford Escort van. The collision occurred at 6.20pm on Monday on the northbound carriageway of the A40, half a mile north of the Dixton Roundabout. The cyclist, who has been named as 44 year old Jeremy Paul Beavan, was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver of the van, who is from the Ledbury area, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently being questioned by police.
