SIR,
I am writing on behalf of all the residents in our part of Goldwire Lane (numbers 6A to 26).
We all feel very disappointed at the lack of response to our request to help us with parking and access due to cars parked and left in the road, while they go shopping or left all day while they work in town.
Our concern is the need for parking availability for many of us in one way or another.
District nurses and carers do call three or four times each day to a few of my neighbours. Mobility wheelchairs have difficulty with access on the road.
Meals on wheels and the community mini bus often can't park or turn in the turning space.
There has on two occasions been the need for an ambulance to park but it couldn't get near to where it needed to be.
Family and friends when visiting or wanting to pick up from the bungalows or houses are unable to get near the front door.
This is not just a problem of inconvenience, this is a major problem and we do need the council to understand our need for some car parking spaces.
We have also asked for a sign for parking for residents and visitors only, this would be a good place to start in helping with our plight.
We understand that the council must be very busy, but would ask that someone could look into this as soon as possible.
If you feel that nothing can be done, maybe you could suggest a cause of action that would help with the parking problem.
Please reply to us through Councillor John Fletcher, as he speaks for the residents in our part of Goldwire lane.
Thank you in anticipation for your help.
