The show, directed by Guy Ritchie has only recently appeared on Amazon Prime Video but it comes as an exciting surprise that some of the places which featured in the show are located in the heart of Monmouthshire.

Beaufort Arms Court is a tranquil cobbled area, where Oxford Coffee sits as well as other businesses like Clare and Bob’s Tea shop, which also featured in the episode.

The tea shop was turned into a photographers which Sherlock visits in the series. They are a family run tea room, who sell homemade bakes - and even support other local suppliers such as Neil Powell Butchers, the Great Trewen Milk Shed and Kontext Coffee.

The Beacon spoke to Manager of Oxford Coffee, Chelsea Oxford and her mum Sharon Oxford to hear about the excitement of their shop being used in an exciting project.

Chelsea said a location manager from Amazon Prime came to take a look at the Monmouth area to know which location would be best suited for the show. Having previously worked on past shows like The Way with Michael Sheen he already had an idea of what the location was like.

The film team came and measured the set to the outside of the shop, so it was all ready for them to start filming which took around five days, for an afternoon of filming.

“We realised how much work goes into creating these films for like two minutes of a scene,” said Sharon.

“It was nice to see the behind the scenes,” said Chelsea, “It was enlightening,” added Sharon.
