AN open air musical to raise awareness for Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is being staged in Dewstow Gardens, Caldicot.
Into the Woods has been directed in memory of Natasha Scott-Falber who sadly passed away after contracting TSS at just 14 years old.
The musical youth of both Chepstow and Caldicot have merged especially to perform the show.
Natasha was a member of Chepstow Musical Youth Theatre.
18-year-old Christian Andrews, co-director of the performance, said: “Into the Woods is a classic broadway production and will be performed in the open air which should give it that extra bit of summer pizzazz.
“Tash was a dancer and an actor and so many activities to raise awareness have been performance based which is a perfect tribute to her.
“My favourite memory of Tash was performing alongside her in Annie, we were the male and female leads.”
The small cast of 14 performers means it should be an intimate performance.
Leaflets will be handed out on the evening about TSS and its symptoms.
Natasha’s mum Mandy Scott said: “It looks like it will be a great night and we are all looking forward to attending and are deeply touched that these young people are doing this to honour Tash and raise awareness of TSS.”
Co-director Millie Postle said: “Christian and I are honoured to direct such a great musical for such a great charity and it would mean the world to us to have the support of as many people as possible.
“With help from Tess Morgan and Tom Carron as well as our musical director Connor Fogel, the 14 strong cast and 16 piece orchestra have been working incredibly hard over the last couple of weeks and all those who come to watch are in for a real treat.
“Don’t miss out on this one night only open air extravaganza!”
The musical will take place on Saturday 8th August at 7pm. Tickets are priced at £7 and £20 for a family ticket.
Audience members are reminded to bring their own chairs or blankets.
To book, telephone 07858 472437.
