AN ONLINE statement from MCC confirmed that Dixton Roundabout won’t be closed yet as it is still in the planning stage with SWTRA and they are engaging with MCC on how they will deliver this scheme.

There aren’t any immediate plans for closure on Dixton Roundabout, SWTRA’s intention was to ensure early engagement with MCC officers so that disruption is minimised and the message is clear to the public when there are solid dates in place.

Monmouthshire County Council said: “Monmouthshire County Council and SWTRA will be working closely to reduce impact on our communities prior to any works commencing. The proposed works are preliminary investigations and provided there are no significant structural issues a reduced programme of works could follow within a couple of months.

“The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is an advanced notice which needed to be renewed from August 28.

“We will ensure that any updates are communicated to the public. We thank you for your continued patience during this time.”
