SIR, In this modern world some of us like myself no longer carry cash and this practice is only going to increase. It's a surprise then that Waitrose decided to go backwards 10 years and introduce change only parking charges. Why accept cards for purchase but not for parking? Anyhow the result is since the introduction of parking charges I now shop elsewhere as I have no choice unless I am prepared to change my lifestyle for them.
