Mind Monmouthshire was recently handed a donation boost by Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA), when it was awarded a festive cheque for £875.

MHA conducted a staff engagement survey which considered many aspects including staff well-being and donated £5 for every completed survey returned by their staff.

Karen Peploe, MHA’s Head of HR said: "Mind Monmouthshire was selected as MHA’s charity of choice by MHA’s staff earlier in the year.

’’We understand local charities such as Mind Monmouthshire need support more than ever to ensure they can continue their critical work supporting people who need extra support with their mental health across Monmouthshire, and we are pleased we are able to help.

’’At MHA we love raising funds for local charities and providing support for both our staff and those within our community.

’’Before Christmas we raised £300 through our Christmas Jumper Selfie Day for local foodbanks and for the fourth year running we organised a Christmas Toy Appeal for 0-18 years old, who are facing hardship, and who otherwise might have had nothing."

Bernadette Kelly, operations manager at Mind Monmouthshire said: "We are really grateful to receive this donation and would like to send our heartfelt thanks to the staff of MHA for choosing us as their charity.

’’It has been tough for everyone throughout the pandemic, and we have had to adapt to keep services running;  donations such as this are a great help.

’’Thank you to all at MHA for their ongoing support. "

The not for profit housing association provides affordable homes for more than 3600 families/people across Monmouthshire.
