A NEW national phone number will be launched this week for homeowners to get information about power cuts in their area.

On 6th September the new national phone number 105 will be launched by electricity network operators for customers to call should they need to report or get information about a power cut in their area.

Speaking last Monday (22nd August), Monmouth Assembly Member Nick Ramsay is drawing constituents’ attention to the number’s launch.

Mr Ramsay said: “Dialling 105 will put customers through to their local electricity network operator and is a free service to people in England, Scotland and Wales. You can call 105 no matter who you choose to buy electricity from and also if you spot damage on electricity power lines and substations that could put anyone in danger.

“I am delighted to help promote this new service and hope constituents will find it beneficial.”
