SEVERAL new homes could be built in the grounds of the Three Salmons Hotel, Usk.

The application submitted to Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) seeks to convert the existing hotel annex and demolish adjacent workshops.

The existing annex would be converted into two single bedroom flats and a couple of two bedroom flats. There will be two one bedroom houses and one two bedroom house.

Plans also include the construction of an access road with car parking for 21 cars. The existing modern workshop buildings are to be demolished to make way for the car park.

The flats could also be considered for occupancy as affordable homes.

Four neighbours objected to the plans for several reasons. One resident felt there were too many houses on the site.

Another resident cited a restrictive covenant that limited the height of any building to 4.27 metres in height for a ridge and 3.05 metres for a flat roof building.

The plans will be discussed at MCC's planning committee meeting on Tuesday 3rd February.
