Regional Senedd Member Laura Anne Jones has backed calls to remove ideological policies from the Welsh NHS, and maintains that language used in our NHS matters.

Ms Jones said the health service should focus on patient care, rather than political agendas.

She said: “The NHS should be focused on delivering the best possible care for patients, not pushing gender ideological agendas.”

“Women should not be erased through the use of language such as ‘birthing persons’ and ‘people who menstruate’.

“The safety of women is also paramount in and so single sex wards need to return, so that women’s privacy and safety are properly protected.

“For too long the Welsh NHS has been focussing and wasting money pushing non-facts.

“Our health service should be focused on reducing waiting lists, supporting staff and delivering safe care, free at the point of delivery as it is now, for everyone.”
