CHEPSTOW is celebrating another record year for GCSE results.
61 per cent of students achieved five or more GCSEs including English and Maths, a 5% increase on last year.
Top grades also increased against the national trend, with A*/A grades accounting for a quarter of all grades.
46% of students achieved at least one A*/A grade and 80% of all students achieved five or more A* - C grades.
Notable results include Ben Wilding who received an outstanding 12A* and 1A and is planning to stay in school to do his A-levels, Callum Spooner was awarded 9A*s and 3 As.
Caitlin van Buren could hardly contain her excitement, and quite rightly so, as the student received 8A*s and 3As,
"I'm staying in school to study my A-levels, after which I'd like to go to the University of Oxford to study."
Headteacher Claire Price, who was clearly overjoyed at the glowing results, said: "We are delighted with the results of our year 11 students. As a year group they have worked incredibly hard, and have always been excellent ambassadors for the school. They fully deserve these exceptional results, and we are looking forward to welcoming most of them back into the sixth form in September.
