Stephen's Bookshop in Church Street and Nine Yards, a cafe and delicatessen in Monnow Street, were among the latest victims of break ins in the Monmouth area in recent weeks.

Thieves smashed the front window of the bookshop to gain entry overnight Sunday/Monday, damaging the glass panel of the door. Cash. a computer, DVD cases and confectionery were stolen.

Overnight on the following day, a crowbar was used to force open the window shutter of Nine Yards. A TV and laptop computer were stolen.

On Saturday afternoon a quantity of Lego and Ben10 walkie talkies were stolen from the Monmouth branch of W H Smith.

Overnight on November 3rd-4th a vehicle at an address on a driveway in The Gardens, Monmouth was broken into and a laptop and cash were stolen from inside.

Overnight on 9th-10th November, a vehicle, parked in Glendower Steet, was entered by wrenching the door open. Nothing was stolen.

Thieves have also been operating in Raglan where sometime on 6th November an orange KYMCO 300 Quad bike and an Ifor Williams 14' flat bed, with axle trailer, worth £800, were stolen from a garage on Old Monmouth Road.

A blue Landrover , I/N J285 MDD, was stolen from an address on Old Abergavenny Road, Raglan, overnight on 6th-7th November.

In Usk Sometime between 1900hrs on 08/11/09 and 0900hrs on 09/11/09 an insecure shed on a farm at Llantrissant was broken into and a Stihl chainsaw, worth £400, was stolen.

The town's Royal Hotel on New Market Street was broken into overnight, 8th-9th November, Entry was gained by forcing a rear window - £5000 cash and personal belongings were stolen.
