THREE good friends travelled to Belgium last Friday (3rd June) to take part in the Monte Carlo or Bust rally.

The rally sees participants travel in a car costing no more than £300 from Belgium to Monte Carlo in three days.

Adrian Whitehead, Nick Goodall and Graham Bridges all took on the challenge for a second year running.

Organisers advised participants in the race to put less effort into their engines and more effort into dressing themselves and the car.

The trio, named The Moosehunters, spruced up a Jaguar S type, decorating her with Thunderbirds nostalgia and spray painting the car pink in recognition of the much-loved Thunderbirds character Lady Penelope. The Moosehunters had a different fancy dress theme for each day.

The Moosehunters travelled across six countries to raise funds for the charity Well Child which supports seriously ill children and their families across the UK.

Last year, the Moosehunters raised thousands for Cancer Research and are hoping to raise a substantial amount for Well Child. Adrian said: “We will be combining the fundraising with a charity bike ride taking place later this year.”

The route saw participants start from Namur last Friday (3rd June) then travelling to Freiburg, Saturday saw the fundraisers travelling from Freiburg to Lake Como and finally on Sunday the teams travelled from Lake Como to Monte Carlo.
