THE next instalment in Peter Bere’s exploration of Monmouthshire through the ages.

Peter shows Monmouth in the Iron Age, with residents by the Lake near Rockfield Road.

Iron Age pottery, probably made in Monmouth by native people during the pre-Roman Iron Age, has been found under numbers 22 to 24 Monnow Street.

More ‘native’ pottery has been found in other parts of the town, including in St James’ Square and over Monnow.

All printed images are available from Rhodri Clarke at the Monmouth printers, The Town Wall St, James Square, Monmouth, NP253DN.

The printing cost for an A3 colour image is £10, which includes £3 for the charity ‘Friends of The Earth’ to help tackle Climate Change.
