MONMOUTHSHIRE Building Society have confirmed they are now back on the high street following the sudden closure after the impact of Storm Claudia.

The Monmouth branch has been closed for several months, among many other businesses on the high street also affected by the floods but they are now back once again to welcome their customers back.

The building society was established in 1869, and they provide residential mortgages and saving products, catering for customers across Wale and England.

The building society has been in Monmouth since 2004 after it was originally founded in 1869 and they then relocated to Monnow Street in late 2024.

The Monmouthshire Building Society posted on their Facebook, “We’re back it feels good to be home on the high street.

“Thank you to everyone who has helped support us following the flooding of our Monmouth branch, the kindness shown by the community in these last few months has been overwhelming and we are so happy to be opening our door to customers again.

“Next time you’re on Monnow Street, pop in and say hello!”
