HANCOCKS of Monmouth recently marked an incredible milestone of 125 years of serving the Monmouth community.

To show their appreciation, the team held a special raffle. There were three lucky winners each receiving a generous meat pack.

The raffle was drawn by the Mayor of Monmouth, Cllr Jackie Atkin, and the current owner of the butchers, Howard Hancocks. The winning tickets were numbers seven, ten, and twelve, and the winners could collect their prizes directly from the shop.

As one of the oldest businesses in Monmouth, Hancocks Butchers continues to be a proud part of the town’s history.

“When I first started here, there were lots of family businesses passing through generations,” said Mr Hancocks. “I think we might be one of the only ones left.”

Cllr Atkin said: “I am honoured to be a part of this celebration and to support such a long-standing local business. Come down and buy your sausages.”
