Bridges is one of four community groups competing for a share of a funding pot made available by Lloyds Bank.

The community centre, based at Drybridge House, wants to improve the toilet facilities for its disabled visitors.

Lloyds Bank's Monmouth branch selected Bridges as one of four projects which are competing with each other for the largest number of votes.

The more votes each cause gets, the more money will be allocated to that project.

Contact the Elderly, Friends of Llandogo School and Heart of the Forest Community Special School are also competing for votes.

Voting closes this Friday (10th October) – go to http://www.lloydsbank.com/communityfund">www.lloydsbank.com/communityfund go to 'Community Search' and Click 'Monmouth'.

At Lloyds you can also collect a voting token from a member of staff and post it into the relevant box.

• Lisa Bailey is well known to many people as a smiling and very helpful face at the Monmouth branch of Timpson's.

Lisa ran the Cardiff Half Marathon for Bridges to support this project last Sunday (5th October).

Lisa had never done anything like this before, but she trained hard for the event and had worn out several pairs of training shoes before the event itself.
