A Monmouth woman scooped a brilliant prize when she got to dine with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

Heather Gonzalez, of Dixton Road, entered a competition at Christmas time in 'Jamie' magazine, which involved writing what she would cook to impress him.

Her recipe consisted of chicken pie made using vegetables from her garden – an idea inspired by Jamie – and 'smush-ins' which is a children's ice cream recipe from one of his earlier books.

Heather was one of six lucky winners who snapped up the prize of lunch with Jamie and two of 'Jamie' magazine's editors, Paul Dring and Andy Harris.

They dined in one of Jamie's test kitchens in London.

"It was a fantastic experience as I have been a huge fan of his since he first started," said Heather.

"He's a very genuine guy, very passionate about what he does and is very inspirational."
