A KIND-hearted girl who grew her hair for a year had her locks chopped off on Friday (17th November) in aid of two children’s charities.

Ellie Walsh, aged 9, has secured more than £170 in sponsorship for BBC Children in Need, which raises money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

And the Monmouth School Girls’ Prep pupil, from Usk, is donating her locks to the Little Princess Trust in Herefordshire.

Pictured below are the boys from Monmouth Boy’s School Form 4, who cycled from Devauden to Monmouth for Children in Need.

All boys were sponsored a minimum of £20 to take part, as the trip began from organiser Hamish Lawson’s home at 7am last Wednesday (15th November).

Travelling from Devauden in convoy, Hamish’s mother Alice carefully followed the boys in the safety vehicle with Pudsey on the back.
