Monmouth 1st XI lost out to visiting Worcester Dominies 1st XI in a bizarre rain-interrupted match that left all involved thoroughly confused.

Having left the pitch happy that they had secured the lions share of the points, Monmouth were later informed that the result had not gone in their favour.

Upon winning the toss, skipper Paul Swingwood elected to bowl but the match was stopped with just 3.3 overs completed.

A long delay followed, with the prospect of a continuation looking ever more unlikely as the players took an early tea.

The downpour did eventually halt, but Swingwood was informed by the standing umpires that there would not be enough overs remaining to fully complete the game under Worcester County League rules.
