Monmouth Lions Club
SIR,
May we, through your paper, thank the manager,
Steve Meade, and staff of Monmouth Somerfield store for
allowing our Lions Club to raise funds in the store last
month.
Customers were very generous and in helping them
to fill their shopping bags at the checkouts we raised a
massive £165.
All that money has been given to Megan Baker
House, a charity in Leominster providing free conductive
education services to children and teenagers with motor
disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, head injury, stroke,
dyspaxia and adults with Parkinsons Disease.
On Saturday, December 20, we will be taking to the
streets for our usual December street collection, this time
raising funds for Christmas food parcels for local people
in need.
As readers will know, this is a joint effort with other
local organisations, and we are grateful for the co-
ordination provided every year by Dr Matharu and the
contribution made by Waitrose.
Andy Raynor
(Secretary, Monmouth Lions Club)
