Monmouth Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary this week and the entertainment continues until Saturday night with a mixture of acoustic, rock, blues and the final night line-up of Poco Latino and new Amen Corner.

Alternative music venues around the town are at St Mary's Church, the Green Dragon and The Three Horseshoes, where the entertainent takes a different direction with a mixture of classical, folk/ rock and the Pontnewydd Male Voice Choir finishing off the week at St Mary's Church.

• Remember when the bucket babes come around that all the volunteers work for nothing, from MC Paul Roberts down to the girl in front of you with a bucket, everyone gives their time freely.

The money raised goes towards the professional sound system engineers and to pay the bands performing on stage, so be generous.
