DIXIE Innes of
Fingal Rock, Monmouth, has been pipped to the top spot of Channel 4's cooking show The Taste.
After cooking her way through nine episodes of the programme under the mentorship of Anthony Bourdain, Dixie made it to the tenth and final episode but missed out on the top prize.
Proud father, Tom Innes said: "Each week the three worst performers were singled out and the judges had to decide from the three which one to send home. All other contestants appeared several times in the bottom three, but Dixie alone only appeared once, showing that she consistently cooked to a high standard, ahead of her rivals.
"Dixie is being cagey about any offers that have come her way, simply saying that she has bought a mobile wood-burning oven to cook flat breads, seasoned and flavoured like pizzas, which she is setting up on Sundays in Maltby Street in Bermondsey, near Tower Bridge in London."
