A MONMOUTH car park opened just under two years ago is in need of repairs.
The Monmouthshire County Council-operated Rockfield Road car park in Monmouth was opened in December 2016.
Offering 94 car parking spaces, the car park was constructed by the council’s Highway Operations team.
It has proved popular since opening, but heavy traffic flow has caused some surface damage to the surface of the car park. The surface is comprised of a plastic membrane, covered in stone chippings.
A spokesperson from the council said: “Damage to the surface of Rockfield Road car park has been caused in part by high stress usage. Additional stone has recently been distributed around the car park while we are looking for long term solutions for this site.”
