Ross 1st XI, buoyed by the previous week's 10-nil victory against Cleevillians A, were looking for another strong performance to maintain their league challenge and sustain the pressure on league leaders Stroud A.

The home game against local rivals Newent A saw Ross 1sts comfortably win six-nil and in the process score their 60th goal of the season.

Despite Ross securing yet another fine victory, Stroud A maintain their one point advantage and hold onto first place in the league.

Following last week's five-four victory over Newent B, the 2nd XI travelled in high hopes to Cheltenham for their game against Lansdown C.

Despite Ross in the early parts of the match having the majority of the possession it was Lansdown who after 10 minutes took the lead, a shot from distance eluding the Ross 'keeper; the covering defender not able to prevent the ball crossing the line.
