SIR,

Mitchel Troy Village Hall trustees would like to thank al of the hall users for their patience during the recent installation of the disabled toilet.

This considerable improvement to the hall was carried out by Peter Robinson of Simi Kitchens Limited, Jason Oliver of Plumbing and Heating Services, and Dave Worgan of Cropthorne Electrical Services. The work was completed by members of the committee decorating the two new cubicles.

Thanks also go to Monmouthshire County Council's Village Community Facility Capital Investment Programme, part of the Rural Development Plan of the Welsh Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and to the Central Monmouthshire Area Committee for the funds that have enabled us to carry out this project as well as the roof insulation and installation of energy efficient lighting carried out last autumn.

We have not finished with our improvements to the village hall and will be discussing what the next projects should be and how to raise funds for them at the village hall AGM.

May we, through the Beacon letter pages, invite every inhabitant of Mitchel Troy to come along to the AGM to put forward their views on how the hall can be improved and used in the future, as well as what social events, including fund-raising events, they would like to see.

The AGM is to be held in the hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st May.

Elaine Savage

(on behalf of the Mitchel Troy Village Hall Trustees)
