TRAVEL Agents Miles Morgan is back open following the Storm Claudia aftermath which caused disruption to the business.
The holiday company located on Monnow Street hosted an open day on Tuesday April 14 from 11am until 4pm to celebrate being back open again after closing for several months.
To celebrate the reopening, they provided a selection of snacks and bubbly for customers as a way of thanking them for their support during a challenging time.
Clare Hughes, Manager at Miles Morgan in Monmouth, said: “We were unfortunately one of the shops in the high street to be flooded last November.
“We are so glad to be back on the high street, and we have all been working in other shops local to us.
“We’ve had lots of support from the other neighbouring shops. Our customers have kept us busy while we have been working in different shops. We still looked after their holidays, bookings and tickets and we have still arranged to have their tickets delivered to them or collected from one of the other shops.
“I arranged to meet my colleague at the shop to assess the damage, we walked in and we couldn’t believe it really. The sludge and the mess. Everything really was destroyed but we managed to save a few things.”
The shop now looks ahead to welcoming their customers back, and one customers who attended the opening day, extended his appreciation to the travel agents after returning from a holiday and immediately wanting to book another.
The spokesperson, said: “I’ve just been on a Riviera Cruz holiday organised by Miles Morgan and had an absolutely tremendous time and to such an extent I have come in now two days after we got back to book the next one.”
