There was a real carnival atmosphere as 56 highly decorated rafts and crews launched onto the River Wye to compete in the 44th Monmouth Charity Raft Race.

Norman Williams of the Rotary Club of Monmouth (the race organisers) said "there were more spectators than ever - it was a great day, with a positive buzz about it".
