THE Monmouthshire Beacon's driving competition winner Megan Sprackling has passed her driving test at her first attempt.
Megan, who is currently studying three A-levels at Monmouth Comprehensive School, won a course of six free driving lessons with Wyesham School of Motoring instructor Ken Howard.
Backed up by plenty of practice with her parents and boyfriend Mark, Megan was all set to take her test in December but severe flooding in the town meant that her test had to be rescheduled until February 6th.
Thrilled to have passed first time, Megan said she was looking forward to the responsibility and freedom of being a driver. She has already driven solo - "It was not as scary as I thought" - and is looking forward to driving to Carmarthen next week.
