SIR,
I would like to applaud Mr Kedward's letter in last week's Beacon regarding Monmouthshire County Council's (MCC) sale of The Meend Farm, Penallt.
As a taxpayer I believe that we should have the property valued by a private sector company, and that the difference in value should be returned to the public funds out of the pockets of those who rushed this sale through.
I must congratulate MCC on its consistency of wasting taxpayer's money.
Bring on the inquiry with a private committee for the sale of the property so that nothing can be brushed under the carpet, and the people of Monmouthshire can receive the market price of it to be used where it should be – in hospitals, schools and local services.
Mr D Morgan
