THE Mayor’s fund to help victims of the flooding is closing in on its £150,000 target, standing at £136,000 last night after more than 1,800 donations.

Rotary Monmouth helped boost it with another £3,700 from its own funds on Friday, and is appealing for support from other Rotary clubs.

A club spokesperson said: “Rotary Monmouth is very pleased to be able to donate £3,700 to the Mayor's appeal for support for victims of flooding.

“This is the surplus from our very successful fireworks display on November 5th. With your support we raise funds for good causes locally, nationally and internationally as well as providing support to local initiatives. See more at Rotarymonmouth.com

“Rotary Monmouth is also asking for support from other clubs in the Rotary network.”
