I was disappointed to find no coverage of the Mayor's Spectacular in last week's Beacon.
This event, hosted by the Mayor, was a great success and raised a considerable amount of money for the mayor's charities.
All of the people taking part donated their services and time, free of charge.
Haberdashers' Monmouth School For Girls, where the event was held, made no charge for using the school.
Local shops agreed to advertise posters made by the children of a local school and many shops donated wonderful raffle prizes.
It was a super evening, thoroughly enjoyed by all who came along, and what a wealth of talent we have in Monmouth.
