The Mayor's Ball on Saturday was a resounding success. The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor and Mrs Derek Bedford welcomed a hundred guests to the Chase Hotel where a meal was followed by music from Jo Winfer and dancing to "Silva". The event raised over £1,500 for the Mayor's Charity which this year is the Ross Educational Foundation. The money will be invested to provide income which will be used to help young people in training for many generations. The sum was raised, not only by those at the ball, but also by many generous people who had been unable to attend.
