Last Tuesday a public meeting was held in the Shire Hall to discuss Monmouth Cemetery, which is now closed for burials.

By default, there is no alternative but cremation if you wish for your remains to stay in Monmouth.

As it seems inevitable that the development planned for Wonastow Road will go ahead despite strong opposition, perhaps Monmouthshire County Council will negotiate with the developers to provide a new cemetery in Monmouth along with clinics and schools.
